History
Founded in 1986, Généalogie et archives SAINT-LAURENT Inc. (originally La Régionale Saint-Laurent inc.) is an organization dedicated to the conservation of the franco - ontarien heritage. This nonprofit institution started in the Nativity Church basement having as resource material only one genealogical dictionary. However, thanks to grants, fund-raising and a dedicated working staff, the resource center grew, one book at a time, until it became too big for the location. Since January 2006, the center is situated at the Holy Cross Campus, 124 Anthony St., Cornwall, Ontario. When you will start researching your ancestors at our center, you will be amazed at what you will find!! How did your ancestors earn their living? How many children did they have? The tools to help with your research are: genealogical dictionaries, indexes of baptisms, marriages and burials, books of national and regional history, archivists' reports, notarized documentations, reviewed land-registries and a lot more!
Généalogie et archives SAINT-LAURENT Inc. invites you - young and young at heart - to discover your rich heritage and meet your ancestors.
